Archiving Policy
MCHU (Mother and Child Health Update) is committed to ensuring the long-term preservation, accessibility, and availability of all published scholarly content. The journal recognizes that reliable digital archiving is essential for maintaining the scholarly record and ensuring continued access to published research.
1. Digital Preservation
MCHU maintains an electronic archive of all published articles and journal content through its official journal platform. Published articles are preserved in their final published version and remain accessible to readers without subscription or access fees.
2. Author Self-Archiving
Authors are permitted and encouraged to archive and share their published articles through:
- Institutional repositories;
- Subject or disciplinary repositories;
- Personal academic websites;
- University or research institution websites; and
- Other legitimate scholarly platforms.
Authors should retain the original citation information and provide appropriate attribution to the published version in MCHU.
3. Repository Deposit
Authors may deposit the final published version of their articles in appropriate institutional or subject repositories without an embargo period, provided that the original publication in MCHU is properly acknowledged.
4. Long-Term Accessibility
MCHU aims to maintain the availability of published articles for long-term scholarly access. In the event of changes to the journal's website, platform, or publishing system, the journal will make reasonable efforts to preserve access to previously published content and maintain the continuity of the scholarly record.
5. Article Identification and Metadata
Published articles should retain their bibliographic information, including the article title, author names, publication details, DOI where applicable, and other relevant metadata. This information supports discoverability, citation, and long-term identification of published works.
6. Open Access and Archiving
All MCHU publications are made available under the journal's Open Access Policy. Authors and readers may access and share published articles in accordance with the applicable Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) license.
MCHU encourages responsible scholarly sharing and archiving to promote the dissemination, preservation, and long-term impact of research in maternal and child health.
7. Continuity of Access
MCHU is committed to taking reasonable measures to protect the continuity of access to its published content. Any future changes to the journal's publishing platform or archiving arrangements will be managed with the objective of minimizing disruption to access to the scholarly record.
